A reply to “Efimerida ton Sintakton”

Regarding the publication in Efimerida ton Syntakton titled “The Romanians wave goodbye“, GFR Hellas responds as follows:

The company began its operations in the spring of 2022 with leased diesel locomotives (MLW) from GAIAOSE, which we continue to use to this day. Romanian locomotives never came to Greece, even though they had been certified. The company’s activity is exclusively in Northern Greece, and the statements made by the article’s author regarding the capacity of the Thriasio–Thessaloniki mainline are entirely unrelated, as we have no operations on the mainline.

It is truly disheartening for all of us—employees and partners alike—to read claims that the company is shutting down, in an article whose author relies solely on rumors! Does he, in fact, know something that we do not?

The response to the speculation created by your columnist is that he has been misled by circles who seek to undermine the flawless operation of GFR and our professionalism — something verified by all those to whom we have provided our services. Furthermore, the alleged assurances supposedly given by the Deputy Minister, Mr. Kyranakis, to GFR regarding a fivefold increase in the capacity of the Thriasio–Thessaloniki mainline are purely the author’s speculation, since we operate exclusively in Northern Greece.

The company does not engage in politics or petty political games—only in delivering flawless rail freight transport services.
